Fabsil Camping Outdoor Waterproofing & UV Proofing
Fabsil is ideal for all outdoor products such as awnings, tents and also clothing. Nothing is worse than having a leaking air tent on holiday. That's what Fabsil is for! Fabsil camping waterproofing is a silicone-based, highly effective waterproofing product. Camping, awning owners and outdoor enthusiasts have trusted Fabsil for years. The UK Company is one of the leading brands here, the parent company is Grangers. Fabsil is a powerful waterproofing product, ideal for tents, clothing, footwear, garden furniture, gazebos, awnings, soft-top cars and much more. An absolute all-purpose product.
The additional UV protection of some Fabsil products prevents fading and gives fabric damage caused by UV rays virtually no chance! Awnings and tents affected here are from Dometic, Kampa, Outdoor Revolution, Telta, Outwell and Starcamp. In addition, water simply rolls off, like a lotus coating on a train vehicle. This means that regular impregnation of the air awning or tent can extend its life by up to twice as long. Please ensure that the tent material is thoroughly cleaned and allowed to dry sufficiently. When impregnating with a spray can or brush, ensure sufficient drying time. Do not use on rainy days!
FABFSIL - How impregnation makes sense
Fabsil not only protects the awning fabric, it does not enclose the fibres, which do not affect breathability or other functions. Be it a polyester or cotton awning, Fabsil works great on both materials. Caution, it does not make sense on TenCate or PVC awnings. However, zips and seams (Fabsil seam sealer) can be treated. Fabsil is simply spread on the awning with a brush or spray can, large areas with a large brush or roller. The drying time can be between 6 and 8 hours, depending on the weather and temperature. Fabsil is odourless when completely dry, but the impregnation should be applied outdoors or in a well-ventilated room if possible.
Before impregnating, please clean the awning or air awning thoroughly. (There are special products such as Fabsil Tent+Gear Cleaner) The tent material should then be given sufficient time to dry properly. If in doubt, wait longer.
As soon as the awning, sun canopy or DriveAway awning has been cleaned and dried, spray on the Fabsil impregnation or apply sufficient Fabsil with a brush or roller and make sure that the material is not exposed to moisture such as rain. This will ensure that the full benefit of Fabsil is achieved. Excess impregnation and drips are wiped away with a clean cloth and evenly distributed, so that no stains can occur. To protect the environment, please lay a carpet or other covering on the grass or ground outside before spraying.
For your own protection, we recommend wearing gloves, safety goggles and possibly a mouth and nose mask when impregnating with Fabsil. This protects the skin, respiratory tract and eyes.
VORZELTE PROFIS TIP: These materials should not be impregnated with Fabsil: Leather, plastic, TenCate and vinyl. Additional materials that can be impregnated with Fabsil are nylon and linen.
